Achieve Higher Search Rankings With Long Tail Keywords
Doing the right research on a keyword is part of being successful when you market on the Internet. The foundation of driving traffic to your site lies in successful keyword research, regardless of the method you are using to advertise. Marketing on the Internet practically requires it. First you need to locate just who you will be advertising to. The progression of effective research begins after you nail this down. In order to do this, you’ll need a keyword research software tool.
Many who have begun marketing on the Internet use the Google Adwords Tool for finding their keywords. But everyone uses these keywords, so while it is good to use them, you should also use other tools in order to get what you need like the Keyword Elite or Micro Niche Finder. This is mainly because these external tools help you discover keywords that you wouldn’t be able to find on your own. Not only will you learn about keywords you will also learn which sites use them and what their rankings are. It will give you all the tools you need to learn just how you can land a spot on the front page of a Google search.
Google Suggest is an amazing source for hidden, profitable long tail keywords that will convert into sales and profits for you. Utilizing Google Suggest is a highly productive avenue that few individuals are aware of, and when used in unison with your paid keyword research tool, can be extremely effective. Google Suggest can help you find the right long tail keywords for your business. The first step is to go to the primary Google website, i.e., Google.com/ncr. The regional websites, such as Google.co.uk, should not be used in this instance.
Google Suggest will examine the keyword that you input on the search query and provide a list of appropriate phrases. This is done quickly. From there, you can look through the list it provides and chose a keyword that interests you. As an example, by looking for information on “Cat House”, Google will suggest phrases to you like “cat house plans”, “cat house outdoor” or “cat house design”. Gather up all the keywords you find in order to have them available later on when you need to save them for your more in-depth research tool.
Long tail keywords should be listed and then analyzed before making your selection. Normally, putting a paid research tool to do the work for you provides golden information, such as the varied competition the keyword runs into, even including stats on the number of times it’s been searched. Proper time must be taken to review this information so that you can make the best selection from your keyword list. When you find long tail keywords that seem to have potential, take a moment to copy them. The amount of time and effort invested in your keyword research will determine the level of success you reap from your marketing. It can’t be stressed enough that discovering the mother lode for specific keywords is NOT going to happen without working for it. Now once you’ve built up a meaty keyword list, compare this with the competition that shows up on Google-get yourself an accurate picture of the real number of competitors on the market.
When you are attempting to achieve the highest search engine rankings, keyword research is the most critical step in the process. There are many people who ignore this crucial step and end up losing a lot of time and hard work on short tail keywords.

Long tail keywords can definately be easier to rank for but the only problem is that sometimes they get such very little traffic that it’s not worth the effort. You have to be careful to balance the ease of ranking with the expected traffic.

@Lee true that the traffic is not huge but if you target product names then conversion can really be high ,I managed a top conversion of 19 percent with clickbank products. Now i am experimenting with paydotcom.

Long tail = less competitive in most cases. Since they’re highly focused, they can boost conversions pretty well. I usually use google’s adword keyword tool to search such keywords. Nice tips.
use of long tail keyword is best for optimization of website it is easy for website developer with help of keyword research tools.
The adwords keyword tool is not a good tool in my opinion, the search volumes shown by this tool are inacurate. I suggest you use wordtracker instead

Longtail is a very good place to start. It is easy to aquire and as already mentioned, conversion rates tend to be higher. Once you have worked on what I like to call “low hanging fruit”, and you are making a steady income, then you should move onto the bigger search terms that will take longer to aquire but the rewards can be huge.

Yes, I’ve read that it’s true.. But getting long tail keywords isn’t that easy right? You really need to find it carefully and it isn’t as easy as 1, 2, 3…
I’ve read that long tail keyword can help you be at the number one spot in any search engine. However, I’m still clueless how can I start finding this long tail keyword.
@David
Two quick and effective ways to find “long-tail” keywords:
1. use Google’s “Wonderwheel” (hidden away under “More Search Tools” on the left of any Google Search screen). The first wheel displayed for a search term will show you the main categories relating to your search topic. Follow the “spokes” 2-3 levels down from there – until you get very specific terms.
2. use Google’s “Relates Searches” in same way in 1. above

Many find it hard to create a long tailed keyword. However, putting effort on it can be very fulfilling most especially if you can see all the results at the end.
considering almost any market you can think is already being covered by somebody else, long tail keywords become crucial in pushing your business to the top of the search results.
I agree targeting lower volume, multi word keyword phrases can convert higher. The people searching maybe closer to buying in their process, but it’s still important to capture the searchers who are still in “research mode” to begin the cycle of trust.
Learning how to make a long tail keyword can be easy. You just need to have patience at first in order to fully understand the process of getting a long tail keyword.
